恵みの風
アイデンティティにおける霊的成長を目指して
「しかし、この方を受け入れた人々、すなわち、その名を信じた人々には、神の子どもとなる特権をお与えになった。」（ヨハネ1:12）
アニメで有名なアンパンマンのテーマソングの一節に「何のために生まれて、何をして生きるのか、答えられないなんて、そんなのは嫌だ」という歌詞があります。これは多くの人がこの難題を抱えて生きています。ですからある人は、何かに打ち込んだり、目標を掲げて、自分の生きる意味と価値を見出そうとしています。
この根源は「私は何者であるか？」という答えが得られていないためです。聖書ははっきりと「あなたは神の子ども」と宣言しています。私は誰かと尋ねられたら、迷うことなく、「私は神の子どもです」と答えることができるようにしてくださいました。これこそ、私たちのアインデンティティにおける、霊的成長の原点です。
神の子どもとは、父なる神さまに愛され、赦され、すべての必要が満たされ、私たちの歩みを導いていただくものです。私たちと共に歩んでくださる主は、私たちの喜びも苦しみも痛みも知っていてくださり、悩みも受け止めてくださるお方です。誰よりも優しく、強く、間違いがないお方が、私たちを子と呼んでくださっているのです。
親子ほど密接な関係はありません。そのような関係の置かれている私たちは、父である神さまに信頼と親しい関係に置かれていますから、神の子とされていることを喜びましょう。
Aiming for Spiritual Growth in Our Identity
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12, NKJV)
In the theme song of the famous anime Anpanman, there is a line that says: “To not know why I was born, or what I should do while I live—that is something I cannot bear.” Many people live their lives carrying the weight of this very dilemma. As a result, people often throw themselves into hobbies or set ambitious goals, trying to find a sense of meaning and value in their existence.
The root of this struggle is the lack of a clear answer to the question: “Who am I?”
The Bible declares the answer with absolute clarity: “You are a child of God.” God has made it possible for us to answer without hesitation, “I am a child of God,” whenever we are asked who we are. This realization is the starting point of spiritual growth within our identity.
To be a child of God means to be:
- Loved and forgiven by God the Father.
- Provided for in all our needs.
- Guided in every step of our journey.
The Lord, who walks beside us, knows our joys, our suffering, and our pain. He is the one who receives and carries our anxieties. He—the one who is kinder, stronger, and more perfect than anyone—is the one who calls us His children.
There is no relationship more intimate than that of a parent and child. Since we have been placed in such a close relationship of trust with God our Father, let us find our greatest joy in being called His children.
