アイデンティティにおける霊的成長を目指して③
「しかし、聖霊があなたがたの上に臨むとき、あなたがたは力を受けます。そして、エルサレム、ユダヤとサマリアの全土、さらに地の果てまで、わたしの証人となります。」（使徒1:8）
私たちは、イエス様を救い主として信じてから、神に喜ばれる子とされ、聖霊によって新しくされました。この新しい生き方、私たちの存在について連載していますが、私たちがイエス様を信じたということは、十字架の死から復活され、今も生きておられるイエス様の復活の証人とされたことを意味します。
イエス様の復活の証人と呼ばれるのに、何かの資格は入りません。学歴も問われません。お金があるから、特別な才能があるから、聖書の知識があるから、復活の証人と呼ばれているわけではありません。何の資格もなかった私たちが、イエス様の復活を信じているということだけで、復活の証人と呼ばれているのです。
イエス様の復活の証人であるということは、何を意味するのでしょうか。それはイエス様が私たちの罪のために十字架にかかって死なれたこと、3日目に復活されたことを証言し、イエス様が神の御子であり、救い主であることを伝えることが、大切な役割としてイエス様から委ねられているのです。
イエス様から委ねられたことを伝え、伝えた人が信じる時に、罪が赦され、永遠のいのちが与えられ、天国に招いていた
だけるのです。このように神の国が地上で拡大することが、神さまが私たちに対して期待を込めたご計画なのです。キリストの証人であることと神の国の計画への理解を深めましょう。
Aiming for Spiritual Growth in Our Identity (3)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Since believing in Jesus as our Savior, we have been made children who please God and have been renewed by the Holy Spirit. While this series focuses on this new way of living and our very identity, believing in Jesus means that we have been appointed as witnesses to His resurrection—He who conquered death on the cross and is alive today.
No qualifications are required to be called a witness to Jesus’ resurrection. Your educational background does not matter. We are not called witnesses because we have wealth, special talents, or extensive knowledge of the Bible. Though we had no qualifications of our own, simply because we believe in the resurrection of Jesus, we are called His witnesses.
What does it mean to be a witness to Jesus’ resurrection? It means that Jesus has entrusted us with a vital role: to testify that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day, and to proclaim that He is the Son of God and our Savior.
When we share what Jesus has entrusted to us, and those who hear it believe, their sins are forgiven, they are given eternal life, and they are invited into the kingdom of heaven. In this way, the expansion of God’s kingdom here on earth is the very plan that God has expectantly designed for us. Let us deepen our understanding of what it means to be witnesses of Christ and of His plan for the Kingdom of God.
