霊的成長を目指してー隣人との関係における成長ー
「それゆえ、主はみずからあなたがたに一つのしるしを与えられる。見よ。処女が身ごもっている。そして男の子を産み、その名をインマヌエルと呼ぶ。」 （イザヤ7:14）
私たちは多くの人間関係の中で生きています。一人一人との関係性が異なり、それぞれに接し方が変わってきます。また関係性が良くても、それが何かのきっかけで壊れたり、あるいは修復したりするものです。そしてこれらは、良くも悪くもストレスとなっているのが現実です。
私たちの人間関係において、私たちにとって最良の模範は、神さまの私たちに対する関わり方から学べるということです。
冒頭のみことばにおいて、「インマヌエル」という言葉は「神が私たちとともにおられる」という意味が含まれています。こ
れこそ、神さまの私たちに対する最良の接し方です。
神さまが最良の関係を築いてくださっているという時、私たちと共にいてくださるということは、次のことを意味します。
第一は、神さまは私たちを祝福してくださいます。第二に、神さまは私たちに寄り添ってくださいます。第三に、神さまは決して私たちを見捨てられることはないのです。
神さまが私たちとの関係を築いてくださる上で、神さまは私たちを愛してくださっていることが大前提です。ですから、私たちは神さまに対して、先入観を持って過剰に恐れる必要はありません。そして私たちが神さまの愛が分かれば、おのずと隣人を愛することを理解でき、隣人に届く愛をもって愛することができるのです。
Aiming for Spiritual Growth: Growth in Relationships with Our Neighbors
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
(Isaiah 7:14)
We live within various human relationships. Our relationship with each person is unique, and the way we interact changes depending on who they are. Even when a relationship is good, a single event can cause it to break down, or at times, be restored. Realistically, these dynamics become a source of stress for us, for better or worse.
When it comes to our human relationships, the best role model we can learn from is how God relates to us. In the verse above, the name “Immanuel” carries the meaning “God with us.” This represents the very best way God interacts with us.
When we say God builds the best relationship with us, the fact that He is with us means the following:
- God blesses us.
- God draws close to walk beside us.
- God will never abandon us.
The fundamental prerequisite of God building a relationship with us is that He loves us. Therefore, we do not need to hold prejudices or be overly fearful toward God. Once we understand God’s love, we naturally come to understand how to love our neighbors—and we can love them with a love that truly reaches their hearts.
