霊的成長を目指してー隣人との関係における成長ー
「彼は言った。『その人にあわれみ深い行いをした人です。』するとイエスは言われた。『あなたも行って、同じようにしなさい。』」 （ルカ10:37）
ルカ10:30〜37には、有名な良きサマリヤ人と呼ばれる、イエス様のたとえ話が記されています。このたとえ話から名付けられた「Good Samaritan Hospital」という名前の病院がアメリカには複数あるくらい、有名な聖書箇所です。
このたとえ話では、強盗に襲われ、瀕死の状態の人を、祭司、レビ人が通りかかっても見て見ぬふりをし、犬猿の仲と呼
ばれサマリヤ人が傷ついた人を介抱し、治療代まで支払ったというたとえ話です。それでイエス様が「この3人の中でだれ
が、強盗に襲われた人の隣人になったと思いますか」という質問に、冒頭のみことばの返答がありました。
私たちに与えられている力は、本来は「あわれみ深い行いを」するために、弱い人を助け、仕えるために主が与えてくだ
さったものです。しかし私たち人間は、その与えられた力を勘違いして、自分の私利私欲のために、自分の正しさを示すために、自分の満足を得るために、誤って用いてしまうことがあります。
あなたに与えられた力は、隣人のために正しく用いられているでしょうか。あなたの力がより正しく用いる時に、神さまはさらなる祝福をご用意くださるお方です。あなたの力を出し惜しみしたり、見返りを求めるような用い方をせず、神さまに喜ばれる形で、愛を持って人間関係を築いていきましょう。
Aiming for Spiritual Growth: Growth in Relationships with Our Neighbors
“He replied, ‘The one who had mercy on him.’ Jesus told him, ‘Go and do likewise.’” (Luke 10:37)
Luke 10:30–37 contains Jesus’s famous parable of the Good Samaritan. It is such a well-known passage that multiple hospitals in the United States are named “Good Samaritan Hospital.”
In this parable, a priest and a Levite pass by a man left half-dead after being attacked by robbers, turning a blind eye to his plight. It is a Samaritan—a member of a group notoriously hostile toward the Jews—who tends to the injured man’s wounds and even pays for his treatment. In response to Jesus’s question, “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”, the listener answers with the verse quoted above.
The strength and abilities entrusted to us were originally given by the Lord so that we might “act with mercy,” helping and serving the weak. Yet, we often misunderstand our purpose, misusing our power to pursue self-interest, prove our own righteousness, or satisfy our personal desires.
Are you using the strength given to you correctly for the sake of your neighbor? When you use your gifts rightly, God prepares even greater blessings for you. Instead of withholding your strength or seeking something in return, let us build relationships in love, using what we have been given in a way that pleases God.
