教会としての霊的成長④
「神の約束はことごとく、この方において『はい』となりました。それで私たちは、この方によって『アーメン』と言い、神に栄光を帰するのです。」 (Ⅱコリント1:20)
冒頭のみことばは何を意味しているのかというと、神さまが聖書を通して語られた約束は、イエス・キリストによってすべてが実現したので、イエス様によってアーメンと告白することで、神さまに栄光を帰することを教えています。
アーメンとは、ヘブル語のアーマンが語源です。これは「確実な」「信頼できる」「信じる」という意味があります。旧約聖書の民たちは、主が語られたことに対して「アーメン」と応答することにより、語られたことに対して自らの信仰として全面的に受け入れる姿勢と、自ら誓いを立てる信仰を示してきました。
今、私たちの2つの教会では、教会役員の選出を、牧師推薦という形で承認していただいています。この役員の人選基準は何かというと、聖書に記されている執事や長老や役員的な立場に立つ人たちの基準が示されていますが、その基準をすべて満たしている人ではなく、語られたみことばに対して「アーメン」と信仰を持って告白できる方々を基準として推薦させていただいています。
私たちの教会としての信仰とは、語られたことに対して、それを実行できるかどうかではなく、「アーメン」と言えるかどうかが問われています。言い換えますと、主が語られたことを私たちができていなくても、アーメンと告白することで、私たちは主に栄光を帰することができるのです。

What the opening Scripture passage means is that because all the promises God made through the Bible have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we are taught to glorify God by confessing “Amen” through Jesus.
The word “Amen” originates from the Hebrew word aman, which means “certain,” “trustworthy,” or “to believe.” In the Old Testament, by responding with “Amen” to what the Lord spoke, the people demonstrated an attitude of fully accepting His word as their own faith, as well as a faith that makes a covenant before Him.
Currently, in our two churches, the selection of church officers is approved through pastoral recommendation. As for the criteria for selecting these officers, while the Bible outlines qualifications for deacons, elders, and leadership roles, we do not recommend people based on whether they satisfy every single standard. Rather, we recommend those who can confess “Amen” with faith toward the word that has been spoken.
The faith of our church asks not whether we are capable of carrying out what has been spoken, but whether we can say “Amen.” In other words, even if we fall short of performing what the Lord has commanded, by confessing “Amen,” we can bring glory to God.
