霊的成長を目指してー愛を示す動機における成長ー
「病人を癒やし、死人を生き返らせ、ツァラアトに冒された者をきよめ、悪霊どもを追い出しなさい。あなたがたはただで受けたのですから、ただで与えなさい。」 （マタイ10:8）
私たちが何かをしようとする時、また愛を示そうとする時、その動機には、少なからず利害関係が働きます。見合ったものか、それ以上の見返りを期待したり、効果や反応があるなら、実行に移します。誰も無駄に思えること、損になるようなことはしたくありません。
なぜこのように考えるのかというと、それはあらゆる面で、私たち人間には、自分を守りたいという本音があるからです。これが罪ある人間の本質と言ってもよいでしょう。ナルドの香油をイエス様に注いだマリアは、周りから、こんな無駄なことをして！と批判されましたが、誰もそうなりたくないのです。
イエス様は「あなたがたはただで受けたのだから、ただで与えなさい」と仰られました。これが動機です。私たちが得ているものは、自分の努力によると主張することもできます。しかし、その努力やエネルギー、能力、環境、機会などすべては神さまから与えられたものであることは、誰も否定できません。
「種を蒔く人に種と食べるためのパンを与えてくださる方は、あなたがたの種を備え、増やし、あなたがたの義の実を増
し加えてくださいます」（Ⅱコリント9:10）。神さまは、あなたが惜しみなく愛をもって福音を伝えることができるように愛
を注いでくださいます。恐れずに愛をもって福音を伝え続けましょう
Aiming for Spiritual Growth: Growth in the Motivation for Showing Love
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”

When we try to accomplish something or show love to others, our motivations are often influenced, at least to some degree, by personal gain. We act when we expect a fair return or something greater, or when we see tangible results and positive reactions. No one wants to do something that seems wasteful or results in a loss.
Why do we think this way? Because deep down, in every aspect of life, we humans have an innate desire to protect ourselves. You could say this is the very essence of our fallen human nature. When Mary poured her expensive alabaster jar of nard on Jesus, those around her criticized her, exclaiming, “What a waste!”—because no one wants to be put in a position like that.
Yet Jesus said, “Freely you have received; freely give.” This is meant to be our true motivation. We might argue that everything we have achieved is the result of our own hard work. However, no one can deny that the very strength, ability, environment, and opportunities that made our efforts possible were all given to us by God.
“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

God pours His love into you so that you can share the Gospel generously and lovingly. Let us continue to share the Gospel with love, without fear.
