霊的成長を目指してー成長のために必要な要素ー
「また別の種は良い地に落ちて実を結び、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍になった。」 （マタイ13:8）
私たちが霊的に成長を目指していくにあたり、大切な要素が2つあります。一つは心がみことばによって耕されて成長する
ということです。もう一つは次回に取り上げますが、成長は神によるものであるということです。この2つの要素が揃ってい
なければ、自力で成長することにすり替わってしまいます。
イエス様は冒頭のみことばで、みことばによって成長することを教えてくださいました。「別の種」とあるのは、その前に
イエス様は、3つの種がそれぞれ違う地に落ちて、実を結ばなかったというお話をされています。そして最後に、良い地に落
ちたことで、実を結ぶことをお話になられました。
ここで大切なのは「種」と「良い地」です。種は、みことばです。種が実を結ぶのは、種そのものに命があるからです。主のみことばは私たちを永遠のいのちを得るように語り続けています。良い地は、主のみことばを聞く私たちの姿勢、心を意味します。農夫である主によって耕された地は、多くの実を結ぶことを約束しています。
しっかりと耕されるためには、私たちが主に信頼して、みことばから常に学ぶ必要があります。誰でも種を撒く人は多くの収穫を期待するものです。みことばの種を蒔かれる主も大収穫を期待しておられますから、しっかりと耕された心を用意しましょう。
Aiming for Spiritual Growth: The Essential Elements for Growth
“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:8, NIV)
As we aim for spiritual growth, there are two crucial elements. First, our hearts must be cultivated by the Word of God to grow. Second—which we will cover next time—is that growth is brought about by God. Unless both elements are present, we mistakenly end up trying to grow by our own human strength.
In the opening scripture, Jesus teaches us about growing through the Word. The passage mentions “other seed” because, just before this, Jesus spoke about three other seeds that fell on different types of soil and failed to bear fruit. Finally, He speaks about the seed that fell on good soil and brought forth a harvest.
What matters here are the “seed” and the “good soil.” The seed represents the Word of God. The reason a seed can bear fruit is that there is life within the seed itself. The Lord’s Word continues to speak to us so that we may obtain eternal life. The good soil represents our heart and posture as we listen to the Lord’s Word. The ground that is cultivated by the Lord, who is our Husbandman (Gardener), is promised to bear much fruit.
To be deeply and thoroughly cultivated, we must trust in the Lord and constantly learn from His Word. Anyone who sows seed naturally expects a great harvest. Since the Lord, who sows the seed of the Word, also expects a grand harvest, let us prepare a well-cultivated heart.
